Project Brief

2018 brought the wonderful world of gin to life and was quickly becoming the number one drink infused with a vast array of flavours and tonics.

With this in mind, and after a delightful evening in Manchester, Directors Belinda Belt and Matthew Belt were inspired by the bottle design of Manchester Raspberry Gin. This became the inspiration for the RHS Tatton show garden GINSPIRATION!

After chatting through the proposed garden to feature at the RHS TATTON FLOWER SHOW, the Craft distillers Manchester Gin agreed to sponsor Ginspiration!

The concept design of the garden was a roof top covered bar area in the city, boasting a large copper coloured metal pergola and to use plants that are either named after a botanical or infused in the process of making gin.

Juniper, angelica root, mint and herbs are threaded through the garden.  Belinda (Director) used her horticultural knowledge to source species of plants to reflect the flavours and garnishes added to the Gins. Plants such as mint, Agastache mandarin dream, raspberry ripple, choc o mint phormiums were used .

A copper bar full of the specialist Manchester gin ranges, aromatic planting and cool contemporary paving brought the vision to life!

The garden was delighted to be awarded a prestigious RHS medal and featured on BBC’s Gardeners world live from RHS TATTON PARK. The BBC also created an amazing virtual reality walk through which you can see on this page.

Many thanks to all our sponsors Manchester Gin, Stone paving Ltd and Aqua cut.
